Reference:
Price: US$34.95
The aim of this book is to discuss contextual factors and the mechanisms at play during the management of musculoskeletal disorders. Knowledge and understanding of these factors can help clinicians to better understand their patients, themselves, and the interactions taking place during patient-clinician exchanges. The awareness of these dispositions can help physicians improve themselves and the care they deliver to patients, leading to a true patient-centered collaborative therapeutic alliance. Physician-patient collaboration is, in turn, associated with better patient adherence and outcomes, and care, delivered in a positive context, produces better outcomes.

A Great and Practical Guide
Michael Vlanin provides better approaches in addressing musculoskeletal care. We often see new advances in the field, but Vlanin points out that it's not always in the patient's view. It's sometimes just a general view. The author points out in looking at the patient's sleep patterns, if they're depressed, etc. etc. The graphics were helpful in picturing what doctors should look for in their patients. I know what to say so my doctor can understand me better. It's a great guide and I hope this book furthers conversations about looking at medical advances through the patient's viewpoint.

Practical Tools for Implementation in Patients
“Dispositionalism in Musculoskeletal Care” by Michael Vianin is an essential book for those of us working in the field of musculoskeletal disorders and pain management. In this book, the author introduces the concept of "dispositionalism," an approach that I personally really like because it shows the importance of understanding the unique characteristics of each clinical case to optimize patient care and that is exactly what medicine should focus on today.
One of the things that caught my attention the most about this reading is the practical way in which key topics that influence the treatment of pain are addressed, specifically depression and quality of sleep, which are two very important elements today in the mental and emotional health of patients. I definitely recommend this book because it has tools to be practically implemented in patients.
